Land Reclamation and Revegetation
From well abandonment to site certification, we can complete all technical and written requirements of the reclamation process. Decontamination and remediation of sites, including excavation, removal, degradation, processing and treating contaminants in the soil in a manner so that the contaminants no longer pose a threat or risk to human health, public safety, property and environment. Re-contouring and restoration of sites, including landscaping, replacement or replenishment of the topsoil and re-vegetation of the surface of the soil so that it is compatible with its surroundings.
Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation Services
Our company is able to provide third-party Environmental Site Assessments according to Reclamation Criteria and Provincial Standards of both Alberta and Saskatchewan. As part of the Phase I ESA, all available documentation is researched, including drilling records, drilling waste disposal documentation, spill data, aerial photographs, site topography, soil classification and water well reports. Site visits are conducted to obtain photographs and determine condition of the site, noting any visual signs of on-site and off-site soil contamination. This information determines whether further investigation is warranted (in the form of Phase II ESA or remediation work) or if the client has met the reclamation regulations and due diligence requirements. The Phase II ESA investigation begins with an EM survey and is based on these results as well as the recommendations of the Phase I ESA. All potential areas of contamination are investigated and conclusions are made about the presence or absence of contamination on the site. The detailed site assessment (DSA) includes an assessment of the soil and vegetation quality/ quantity/ profile, as well as landscape compatability with the surrounding environment as required by the appropriate criteria, ie. 2010 Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites.
