Our Team
Ken Bownes, BScKen is the founder and genius behind KB Prairie Consulting Ltd. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Chemistry. His experience in the oil and gas industry includes supervising drilling rigs, completing cut and caps and operating a petroleum analytical laboratory. Ken has over 30 years experience reclaiming and remediating oil and gas sites and created KB Prairie Consulting in 1996.

Steve Bownes, PAgSteve is a Project Manager for KB Prairie Consulting Ltd. He is a Professional Agrologist registered with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrology since 2013. He graduated from Lakeland College in 2001 completing both a Diploma in Conservation and Reclamation and the Bachelor of Applied Integrated Environmental Management degree. Steve has over 20 years of experience in the environmental consulting field, remediating and reclaiming upstream oil and gas sites and has been a Professional Agrologist for over 15 years.

Sheri Bownes, PAg, MScSheri is a Project Manager for KB Prairie Consulting Ltd. She is a Professional Agrologist registered with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrology since 2014. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science then obtained a Masters of Science in Sustainable Energy Development in 2010 from the University of Calgary. She has worked for over 15 years with KB Prairie Consulting, specializing in Environmental Site Assessments, Program Supervision and administration.
Diego Paliz, MBA, MScDiego is a new recruit with KB Prairie Consulting Ltd. He completed a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development at the University of Calgary as well as a Master of Business Administration at Portland State University. He has worked for the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy in Ecuador, coordinating and monitoring various energy projects.

Chelsea Gatzke, BAEMChelsea is an Environmental Scientist for KB Prairie Consulting Ltd. and a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Management from Lakeland College in Vermillion. Before entering the Applied Degree program she completed a Diploma in Conservation and Restoration Ecology also at Lakeland College. Chelsea's hometown is Spiritwood, Saskatchewan and vegetation ecology and native grasslands in particular are her passion.
Wes Nash, BAEMWes is a Reclamation Consultant for KB Prairie Consulting Ltd. and a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Management from Lakeland College in Vermillion. Wes's hometown is Glaslyn, Saskatchewan and remediation projects are his specialty.
